Last spring I had chance to visit bishnupur , which was a kind of ghost city of Samudra gupta. The current small town was once a city ruled by local Hindu king who played tribute to Samudra Gupta. The Bishupur is basically famous for its special terracotta style which was implemented in fashion and sarees.
If you visit bishnupur now a days , the pride is no where.Due to its dry weather it is now sucking all the things.Lack of water , electricity and basic requirements of Industries as well as education everything is going down day by day.The roads are chaos( most of the roads are also not properly built , those all are just built). The govt. many times promises for better development for industries and development of education, ahh...but failed anyway. Even the govt. failed to protect the statues and the architectures. The water distributions lines are also very poor. Most of the states does not connected with water as well.Lact of education is also created failure social structure and put them down backword. I don't think it will be get rid of this situation within any time soon.
The next point we moved to Rasmancha whcih was really awasome . The terracotta architechqure is clearly visible here.History says that is was built in 1587 by bir hambir and the pyramidical struture adds something extra. Form outside it seems like our prime minister's building. This is named Rashmancha simply because it was used in Rash Festival( a famous festival).
Figure - The terracortta architecture of Rashmancha shows it all.
Figure - As you can see the images how bishnupur looks so undevelopped and un urbanized way.Being a village it is good , where you should not ask for the basic stuffs of life.
There are many places to visit in bishnupur , the terracotta style is just awasome. we were just for one day and I dont think one day in bishnupur is good to go.You must have 3 days if you want to visit perfect knows each points history as well. There were many points we skipped being said those are no improtent at all and some are wired.I dont think so though, if you travel somewhere knows its background , why I am travelling here , what is its history then I believe travel dreams will be fulfilled.
By the way , I started travelling form Dalmadal canon( or Dolmadol kaman) which is a canon and used to protect the city bishnupur for the bargis( the maratha looters). It really have long history.Lets see some of its images.
Figure - The figure is the dalmadol canon and a old man was telling the history of it.Unfortunetly I was not able to understand the history :)
Near by we found another great temple name "Chhinnamasta Temple"

Anyways I enjoyed a lot travelling the bishnupur but I think one day is enough for it. You must have more days to visit.
