What is happiness? What is pleasure? What is success? The
answer to all these questions is ‘good life’. I have come across many people
with multiple thoughts and feelings. Each and everyone had their own share of
story. Some said that their children are their biggest strength and their
reason to happiness. Some said they consider living a wealthy life to be their
success. Some said ‘pleasure’ is an art of living a healthy life. If anyone
asks me ‘how to live good’, my
obvious answer will be work smarter but not harder, save more, diversify your
investments and have faith in god. Living good, entirely depends on one’s habit
and the way he/she takes his/her own life.
Yes, I agree there comes many unfortunate events which we are
unable to handle. Unnecessary worries hover in the mind and it becomes quite
difficult to deal with them. I have been reading several books of great
philosophers and writers. The writers and authors shared their views on good
life saying – examine your life, search for new pleasures, engage life with new
things, make yourself happy. I practiced it on my own. Living life was tough as
long as I tried to cling to those unhappy moments. Repeatedly those unfortunate
moments chased me wherever I was. I was losing myself and could not face the
truth.
That point of time, these books helped me a lot. I could
literally hear the echoes from the verses of primeval Greek philosophers. It
was Plato in the voice of Socrates – his hero stated – “Living life is about
examining life through reason”. When I was searching for the answer on ‘how to live good ’ – I found out a line
saying worry about only those things that are there in your control and not
those beyond your capacity. Certainly this ideology worked miraculously for me.
It is amity and trust that make things work.
When everything turned me down and I lost my hope – I learnt
that affiliation and association with people can bring peace. It is the
reciprocal attachment and associative bond between friends that lead to a good
life. Today, I live by the saying –‘One Love’. With years rolling, I started
writing my book “The state of mind” where I have spoke about the key role to
success. I have also discussed on how to prepare for all important events in
life. In fact the book is dedicated to the youths of tomorrow. From the initial
stage, my inspiration has always been Martha Edward, my dear grandmother. She
has really made a difference in my world.
Today, what I am and how happy I am with my life is because
of my faith. Certainly my faith towards the Almighty has led me to success and
developed into a true human being. This is how I am living a good life.
